Privacy
goui collects no personal data. It has no account, no analytics and no ads. Nothing it reads goes out of your browser, apart from the AutoEQ downloads named below.
Last updated 13 October 2026. This policy covers the goui extension, version 0.1.3 and later.
What goui reads
- The tab you click the goui icon on. goui reads its address, to check it is a web page, and its title, to show in the panel. It reads no other tab.
- The audio of that tab. The sound runs through the EQ inside your browser and plays back to you. goui never records it, keeps it or sends it anywhere.
What goui keeps
Everything goui keeps stays in your browser's extension storage, on your device.
- Your EQ settings, your headphone and ear presets, and the slider values.
- The last tab and graph view you used in the panel, and whether goui has heard a tab yet.
- A copy of the AutoEQ headphone list, kept for a week so a search is fast.
- The title of the tab goui hears, until you close the browser.
Removing the extension deletes all of it.
What goui sends
goui makes one kind of request. When you search AutoEQ or pick a headphone, it downloads the
headphone list and that headphone's profile from AutoEQ's public files on GitHub
(raw.githubusercontent.com). Like any web request, GitHub sees your IP address
and the file asked for. The
GitHub privacy statement
covers those requests. goui sends nothing else, and it sends no settings, titles or audio.
The Measure my ear with eqbyear button opens eqbyear.com in a normal tab. That visit is between you and eqbyear, under their own policy. goui only reads the result you paste back by hand.
What goui shares
goui collects no data, so it has none to share or sell.
This website
goui.mwyndham.dev runs on Cloudflare. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Cloudflare handles each request under its own privacy policy.
